FAQs

Where is the venue?

The Alfred Hitchcock Hotel is in Leytonstone: https://maps.app.goo.gl/exey9CnoaYsx5df1A

How do you get there?

It’s about a 10-15 minute walk from Leytonstone Underground Station. The Underground is the best bet if coming from central London, and takes 30-45 minutes. If coming from somewhere local, Ubers and cheap and very reliable, even late at night. If you’re looking for somewhere to park, quite a lot of the streets nearby are not permitted (including Poppleton Road and Colworth Road).

Where can we stay?

There are a few places with rooms in Leytonstone, but not many. The Hitchcock itself does have rooms, but they’re quite basic. The Red Lion pub has nice rooms and is walking distance, but they can be a bit noisy at the weekend. Wanstead is really close and a lovely bit to be in, but hotels are more limited. Stratford is also really close, albeit a bit soulless, and has loads of different hotels.

What’s the dress code?

Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. We’ll be getting dressed up, and other will as well, but there’s no expectations around what anyone wears.

When is it happening?

We’ll be at the pub from 4:30pm on Saturday 18th April until close which is around 12:30am.

What about food?

Food will be available at various points. There’ll be plenty of veggie, vegan and gluten-free options. If you have any more specific dietary requirements, please let us know.

What about gifts?

We’re not expecting gifts beyond your presence. If you are keen to do something, we’d really appreciate it if you’d consider donating to Papyrus, a fantastic charity that works to prevent youth suicide. It’s close to our hearts and any donations would make a difference.

Or if you prefer you can just put some cash behind the bar - let one of us know if you'd like to and we'll sort it out.

Neither, however, is in any way obligatory or expected. The main thing is that you join us for the day.

Can I bring a plus one?

Unfortunately, we are limited on capacity and everyone we’re able to invite has been invited. We’re not able to extend the invites to plus ones.

What about children?

Small children are welcome before 7:30pm, but will need taking home after that. Whilst we’re keen not to exclude children, it probably won’t be the most fun for them, so we’ll leave that up to you!
